Georgios Gerardos

Mr. Georgios Gerardos is the founder of the company “Plaisio Computers”, one of the leading Greek companies and holds the office of Chairman and CEO. The main activity of Plaisio S.A. is the assembly and the trade of electronic computers, the trade of telecommunications equipment, the trade of book and stationery items and office equipment products as well as the trade of domestic appliances, whose turnover exceeds 350 million Euro and which employs more than 1.400 employees. Mr. Georgios Gerardos was born in Palaio Faliro in 1946. He has graduated as Civil Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens. In 1969, Mr. Georgios Gerardos at the age of 23 years old and, furthermore, as a student of the National Technical University of Athens, established the company “Plaisio S.A.” in Stournari street, a store which covered an area of 12 square meters, for the supply of drawing materials for the students of the Technical University. The entrance of the company’s entry in the IT market was accompanied by an increased demand which resulted in the increased number of the points of the company’s “Plaisio S.A.” presence in the main spots of Athens. In 1988, Mr. Georgios Gerardos introduces the company “Plaisio Computers S.A.” in its current corporate form. In 1999 he lists the company in the Athens Stock Exchange and for 8 consecutive years he achieved to make the company “Plaisio S.A.” one of the 500 high growth private companies in Europe (Europe 500). In 2005 he proceeded with the extension of the company’s “Plaisio S.A.” business in Bulgaria, by establishing the company “Plaisio Computers JSC”. Mr. Georgios Gerardos having his view to the future, he achieved to make the company “Plaisio S.A.” to be the synonym of technology and full service of the consumers. In view of this purpose, in 1986 “Plaisio S.A.” assembled the first electronic computer in the Greek market which was tailor-made for the consumer with the registered brand name “Turbo-X”. In 1995 Mr. Georgios Gerardos started to share the multi-channel approach in the retail sector by setting up a department of directs sales and shipments by telephone, fax and catalogues. In 1999 he created the first electronic store in Greece, and in 2009 he inaugurated a modern logistics centre which covers an area of 22.500 square meters situated in Magoula, Attica. In 2019 he celebrated 50 years of “Plaisio S.A.” in the Greek Market with the opening of the 25th store of the Group of Companies and the entry in the Domestic Appliances market.

Mr. Konstantinos Gerardos is the Vice-Chairman and CEO of the company “Plaisio Computers”, one the leading Greek companies which is active in the assembly and trade of electronic computer, in the trade of telecommunications equipment, in the trade of book and stationery items and office equipment products as well as the trade of domestic appliances, whose turnover exceeds 350 million Euro and which employs more than 1.400 employees. Mr. Konstantinos Gerardos was born in 1977 and has graduated from Eckerd College, U.S.A. Mr. Gerardos has been employed since 1955 and has passed through the backbone of the company which is the company’s stores and then he was employed in the E-shop Department, HR Department and Marketing Department and thus he gained an integrated experience in the marketing and creative parts of the company “Plaisio S.A.”. In 2005 he led the establishment of a subsidiary company in Bulgaria. Mr. Konstantinos Gerardos has grown up inside the company “Plaisio S.A.” as he enjoyed working since the age of 8 years old during the weekends and summers and therefore, he has been attending the development of the company the last 36 years. Furthermore, Mr. Konstantinos Gerardos, apart from his restless spirit regarding the trading sector, demonstrates a forceful action in issues of Corporate Social Responsibility. His initiatives are focused on the efforts on a better future for children by supporting the education with what he knows best, the technology. The 1st Stem library in a Public Greek School and the full support to the children of employed parents who have participated in the Robot Olympiad, by conquering the golden medal, are two of his numerous initiatives. Moreover, he has created a voluntary Group of Plaisio S.A., #plai_sou. Mr. Konstantinos Gerardos is the Secretary General of the Association of Business and Retail Sales of Greece (H.R.B.A).
Apostolos Tamvakakis

Apostolos Tamvakakis is the Founder and Managing Partner of EOS Capital Partners, the investment manager of “EOS Hellenic Renaissance Fund”, the biggest greek private equity fund. Today he holds the positions of Vice Chairman of Gek Terna SA, Member of the BoD of Quest Holdings, Euroseas Ltd, Eurodry Ltd, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Hellenic American University, member of the Board of Minerva, Eurocatering SA, Chairman of the Liquidations Committee of PQH Single Special Liquidation S.A and member of the Marketing Commission of the Hellenic Olympic Committee. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Greece, as Independent non-executive Vice Chairman of the BoD of Piraeus Bank, as Head of Strategy and Business Development on the management team of the Geneva-based Latsis Group, as Chairman and Managing Director of Lamda Development, as Deputy CEO of National Bank of Greece and Chairman of ETEVA, as Deputy Governor of National Mortgage Bank of Greece, as Deputy General Manager of ABN AMRO Bank, as Manager of Investment Banking at Hellenic Investment Bank and as Planning Executive at Mobil Oil Hellas. He has also served as Vice-President of Hellenic Exchanges SA, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Inter-Alpha Group of Banks, Chairman of Ethnocard (National Management & Organization Co), Chairman of National Securities SA, Chairman of AVIS (Greece), President of the Southeastern European Board of the Europay Mastercard group and as a member of numerous boards and committees. He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and holds an M.A. in Econometrics from the Saskatchewan University in Canada.
Aikaterini Vasilaki

Mrs. Aikaterini Vasilaki is a graduate of the department of International & European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business and with post-graduate studies in International Finance and knows four languages. She started her professional career in 2005 in the Financial Department of the company “Plaisio SA” as Financial Controller. Since 2008 she has the office of the Investor Relations Officer and thereafter she undertook the responsibility to prepare the Financial Statements. In 2016, she took over as Head of the Financial Department. During her 15-years career she has participated in numerous Roadshows and in all the strategic and development projects of the company “Plaisio S.A.”. Furthermore, she has participated in working groups on issues concerning the retail sector.
Alexios Pilavios

Mr. Alexios Pilavios is currently serving as non-executive Chairman of Alpha Asset Management M.F.M.C. and Vice-Chairman of ABC Factoring, as Chairman of Athens Exchange Clearing House of the Athens Stock Exchange, member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Exchanges and member of the Board of Directors of the company “Mytilineos S.A.”. He has a great experience on the Bank, Investment Management and Capital Markets sectors. During his 35-years career he has served in senior offices of the national finance sector. He has served as Chairman of the Capital Market Commission (2004-2009), CEO of Alpha Bank SA (Head of Wealth Management Department) and member of the Bank’s Executive Committee (2009-2017). He has also served for many years as CEO of Alpha Investments SA and Alpha Asset Management (1992-2004) and as Chairman of the Association of Greek Institutional Investors (1996-2000). Before his term of office in the Alpha Group of Companies he held senior management offices in the management positions at Ergasias Bank, Emporiki Bank and NIBID (National Investment Bank for Industrial Development). He was born in Athens in 1953, graduated from Athens College, and holds a B.Sc. (Econ) from the London School of Economics, a M.Sc. (Economics) from the University of Essex and a Ph.D. in Economics of Education from the London University Institute of Education.
Costas Mitropoulos

Mr. Costas Mitropoulos is a management consultant with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, developing strategies and restructuring and is a member of the Board of Directors of ELTRAK S.A., of Cyprus Development Bank Ltd and the Institute of Economic and Industrial Studies (ΙΟΒΕ). He has also served in several management offices, as Chairman of the Board of Director of ATTICA BANK, as Executive Director of PwC Greece in Greece, responsible for developing the Advisory Department, as Managing Director of PQH Single Special Liquidation S.A., a company which has undertook the liquidation of 16 failed banks. Mr. Costas Mitropoulos has also served as the first Managing Director of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) and during his term of office he was coordinating 18 privatization transactions and completed three of them and as Executive Chairman of Eurobank EFG Equities and Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets in the Eurobank EFG Group. He was the founder and Executive Chairman of KANTOR Management Consultants S.A.He started his career as management consultant in Coopers & Lybrand in UK. Mr. Costas Mitropoulos has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Bank Association, the Athens Stock Exchange, NIKAS S.A., LogicDIS S.A. in Greece and CLR Financial Services Ltd in Cyprus. He was a long-standing member of the Global Advisory Council of the London Business School, a Vice President of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and of the Entrepreneurship Association and is co-chair of the Greek British Symposium. Mr. Costas Mitropoulos is a mechanical and electrical engineer from the National Technical University of Athens, with post graduate studies in Business Administration and Economics, holding an MSc from Imperial College and a PhD from the London Business School. He has published 9 articles in scientific journals and numerous articles in professional magazines and newspapers.
